This is one of the main attractions of Dehradun. It is situated a little out of the town. This serene Shiva temple is with natural rocks making the outer cover of shrine. The porous rocks present above the Linga makes drops of water to fall continuously on the Linga. Hence the name of the Shrine. there are many other deities around the shrine making it a beautiful atmosphere. Adjacent to this shrine there is a natural cave temple namely "Vishno devi" along with other Durga temples. You have climb few steps to reach the entrance where the cave starts. There is huge Hanuman Statue The temple premises is maintained neatly with peaceful atmosphere. A must see shrine in Dehradhun to get happoiness and satisfaction. Jai Shiv Sambo

Tapkeshwar, a temple which maintains its historical infrastructure, is one the most divine temples that I've visited so far in Dehradun. Specially the view and decoration (Shringaar) at the time of Aarti is so beautiful that you just want to stare or for hours and hours. The River floating nearby and the Vaishno Devi temple besides the Cave , makes it much more divine.

The beauty of Dehradun is beyond one's imagination. One such pilgrimage site is the Tapkeshwar temple. The beautiful temple of lord Shiva established between two hills attracts people of Dehradun and outside throughout the year. As one goes down the stairs, the feeling is quite different, something he hasn't felt before. The temple gives a serene devotion. Water drops from the ceiling of the cave trickle down over the Shivaling in a continuous downpour, making for an interesting spectacle. The small cave with this magnificent scenery is said to have been once resided by Dronacharya. The cave is thus named Drona cave after his name. The water that drops down vanishes underground and can be seen few yards away in the form of a stream. This is the place where devoted pilgrims take bath before entring the temple. The beauty of the temple lies in the devotion of thousands of people. Their life gets another meaning.
